Mazes...

Why is it easier to help others, when you can't even help yourself? Why can you give advice to others, with a sound mind, and full clarity, but when it comes to figuring out your own day to day dramas, you're at a loss? I wish I had an answer. For as long as I remember I have always been drawn to helping the people around me. My way of doing this is being a listener, and advice giver. I like to think I am pretty good at hearing a problem and giving thoughts on how to solve it, but for the life of me I can't do that for myself. When I have a problem, I can see the solution, but cannot get there. Being able to see the solution, and ways to get there for others is all about point of view though. It is like your in a maze. When you are on the inside you can't see the different possibilities and paths, you need someone on the outside looking from above to open your eyes to the possibilities, and ways out, around you! What makes me feel good about being able to be this outside view for people is that I can help people do what I can't do for myself. It is about control. I wish I could say that it can be fixed. That you can become that outside view for yourself, but you can't. You might get to the point you can see the other paths, but you still can't get to the end! Trust me, I am still trying to figure this out myself. It's hard when you know the best thing to do, but you just can't do it. Quite frankly it sucks!! But you know who can give you that outside view? Not only that, but can take your hand and guide you out of that "maze"? God. I know, I know, maybe you know this, and you're saying "I know he can lead me out, but I can't seem to trust in that thought". Oh boy do I know! I am trying to remind myself of that fact everyday, that God has my hand, and that at this dead end I think I am at, there is actually a hidden path. We all need to remember that if we just keep the faith, that the path will be revealed, and this problem, this dead end, will be cleared. So will the next one, and the one after that, because we have faith, and our faith is in God. So, hold out your hand, breathe, and open your eyes to the one guiding you. Give 100% control. It will not be easy and it WILL take time, but we can do it...together!
